  • 1 cup Red Gold Ketchup Or any similar quality ketchup
  • 1/2 cup Dark Brown Sugar Can substitute with light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Yellow Mustard
  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar Or red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Freshly ground preferred

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the coarsely chopped bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 8-10 minutes until crispy.
  3. Sauté the diced sweet onion in the skillet for 5 minutes until translucent.
  4. Reduce heat to low and stir in pork and beans, ketchup, dark brown sugar, drained pineapple, yellow mustard, vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the oven and bake uncovered for 1 hour until bubbly and thickened.
