Step-by-Step Instructions for Baked Oatmeal Bars
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line an 8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease with oil.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash ripe bananas until smooth, and then add in the rolled oats, water, salt, sweetener, oil or nut butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until fully combined.
- Pour the mixture into your prepared baking pan and smooth the top evenly.
- Sprinkle optional chocolate chips or chopped nuts on top of the mixture.
- Bake for 20 minutes without opening the oven door.
- After 20 minutes, turn off the oven and let the pan sit inside for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the oven, allow to cool completely, and then slice into desired shapes.
