Preparation Steps
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt until thoroughly combined.
  2. Cut in very cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Gradually add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough just comes together. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while the dough chills.
  5. Peel and slice your pears, then toss them in a bowl with brown sugar, flour, and chai spice mix.
  6. In another bowl, combine oats, chopped almonds, brown sugar, and melted butter.
  7. On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough and fit it into a tart pan. Pour the pear filling into the crust and sprinkle the topping evenly.
  8. Bake for 40-50 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  9. Let it cool for 15 minutes before serving warm.
