Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your broiler and position the oven rack in the upper third of the oven.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and onion, sautéing for about 3 minutes until translucent and fragrant.
  3. Add the gnocchi to the skillet and cook for approximately 3–4 minutes until they start to brown slightly and become tender.
  4. Stir in the shredded chicken, pasta sauce, Italian seasoning, kosher salt, and black pepper. Cover and cook on medium-low heat for 5 minutes until heated through.
  5. In a bowl, melt butter and mix in panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, and remaining Italian seasoning until crumbly.
  6. Remove skillet cover and sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the gnocchi mixture, followed by the breadcrumb topping.
  7. Place the skillet under the broiler and cook for 5–7 minutes until the cheese melts and the breadcrumb topping turns golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and garnish with fresh basil before serving.
