For the Chicken Marinade
  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil substitute with avocado oil for different flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin no direct substitute
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika smoked paprika can be used for extra kick
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric no substitutes necessary
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander omit or replace with parsley if desired
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon small pinch of nutmeg can work
  • 4 cloves Minced Garlic fresh is best
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice freshly squeezed preferred
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
For the Garlic Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise Greek yogurt can be added for tangy twist
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic add roasted garlic for milder taste
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice adjust to your liking
  • a pinch Salt taste and adjust if necessary

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, cumin, paprika, turmeric, coriander, cinnamon, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Stir until fully incorporated.
  2. Add your chicken strips into the prepared marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill or non-stick pan over medium-high heat. If using a pan, add a little olive oil.
  4. Cook the marinated chicken strips for about 5-7 minutes per side until they achieve a golden crust and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  6. Allow the cooked chicken to rest before slicing it into bite-sized pieces. Serve in warm pita or alongside garlic sauce and fresh vegetables.
