Step-by-Step Instructions for Hot Ranch Sausage Dip
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook 1 pound of ground sausage. Use a spatula to break it into crumbles as it cooks for about 5-7 minutes until fully browned. Carefully drain any excess grease.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, 1 cup of sour cream, and 1 packet (1 ounce) of ranch seasoning mix. Blend until smooth for about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the cooked sausage to the creamy mixture and stir in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese until evenly combined. If using diced tomatoes, fold in 1/2 cup now.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish, transfer the mixture, and smooth the top. For an extra cheesy finish, sprinkle some additional cheese on top.
  5. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until hot, bubbly, and lightly golden on top.
  6. Allow to cool slightly for about 5 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup of diced green onions.
