Step-by-Step Instructions for Hot Ranch Sausage Dip
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook 1 pound of ground sausage. Use a spatula to break it into crumbles as it cooks for about 5-7 minutes until fully browned. Carefully drain any excess grease.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, 1 cup of sour cream, and 1 packet (1 ounce) of ranch seasoning mix. Blend until smooth for about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the cooked sausage to the creamy mixture and stir in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese until evenly combined. If using diced tomatoes, fold in 1/2 cup now.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish, transfer the mixture, and smooth the top. For an extra cheesy finish, sprinkle some additional cheese on top.
- Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until hot, bubbly, and lightly golden on top.
- Allow to cool slightly for about 5 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup of diced green onions.
