Step-by-Step Instructions
- If you choose to enhance flavor, heat a splash of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the boneless, skinless chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn golden brown.
- In your crock pot, mix together the cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning mix, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and a sprinkle of black pepper. Stir until everything is well combined and smooth.
- Carefully place the seared chicken breasts into the sauce mixture in your crock pot, covering each piece with the creamy sauce.
- Cover the crock pot and set it to cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is fully cooked.
- Use two forks to shred the chicken right in the crock pot, mixing it back into the creamy sauce.
- Stir in the sour cream until fully incorporated. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes
For a dairy-free option, substitute sour cream and cream of chicken soup with suitable plant-based alternatives.
