Ingredients
  

  • 2 large apples such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, cored and cut into thin wedges
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs panko recommended for extra crunch
  • 1 tablespoon sugar optional, for sweetness
  • Cooking spray or oil for spraying

Method
 

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs until well combined.
  4. In a third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and sugar (if using).
  5. Dip each apple wedge first into the flour mixture, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. Arrange the coated apple fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray lightly with cooking spray or oil.
  7. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly before serving.
