  3. Prepare Breading Mixture: Combine cornstarch, flour, sugar, and spices in a bowl.
  4. Heat the Oil: Pour oil into a pan and heat to about 350°F.
  5. Breading Process: Dip tofu in buttermilk, coat in breading, and double coat for extra crunch.
  6. Fry Tofu: Fry each piece for 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown.
  7. Drain Excess Oil: Transfer fried tofu to a paper towel-lined cooling rack.
