  • 1/2 cup Mini Chocolate Chips Can be swapped for regular chocolate chips.
  • 1/2 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips Use dark or milk chocolate depending on preference.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Use salted butter but omit additional salt.
  • 1 large Egg No direct substitute; flax egg for vegan alternative.
  • 1 bar Dark or Milk Chocolate Bar Lindt is recommended for quality.
  • 1 pinch Flaky Sea Salt Optional finishing touch.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini muffin pan thoroughly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, light brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and mini chocolate chips.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips and unsalted butter together in short bursts, stirring until smooth.
  4. Whisk in the large egg into the melted chocolate mixture and then pour it into the bowl of dry ingredients. Gently combine them.
  5. Fill each mini muffin cavity with brownie batter, about two-thirds full, and place a piece of chocolate bar on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until set around the edges but slightly underbaked in the center.
  7. Allow the bites to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before gently removing them to maintain gooey centers.
