Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to dry ingredients; mix until smooth, then stir in boiling water.
  4. Gently fold in raspberries into the batter.
  5. Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Heat cream until simmering; pour over chopped chocolate and stir until smooth. Add butter if desired.
  7. Layer cake on a plate, spread ganache, add second layer and pour remaining ganache over the top.
