- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to dry ingredients; mix until smooth, then stir in boiling water.
- Gently fold in raspberries into the batter.
- Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Heat cream until simmering; pour over chopped chocolate and stir until smooth. Add butter if desired.
- Layer cake on a plate, spread ganache, add second layer and pour remaining ganache over the top.
- Slice and serve, optionally with whipped cream or ice cream.
