  • Wooden Spoon
  • Baking Sheet
  • Oven

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of softened unsalted butter, ½ cup of granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt. Mix until resembling coarse crumbs, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the mixture. Mix until a smooth dough forms, about 1-2 minutes. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of finely chopped walnuts, ¼ cup of honey, and a pinch of salt. Mix gently.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the chilled dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.
  5. Spread a thin layer of walnut filling over each dough rectangle, leaving a small border. Roll tightly from one edge.
  6. Slice the rolled logs into 1-inch wide cookies. Bake on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
