Cooking Steps
- Start by removing the Mahi Mahi fillets from the fridge. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, paprika, and pepper.
- Grab a heavy-bottom skillet, add a tablespoon of butter and a drizzle of olive oil, and heat over medium-high.
- Carefully place the seasoned Mahi Mahi fillets in the skillet and cook for 4 minutes on one side.
- Flip the fillets and continue cooking for another 4 minutes, until they flake easily.
- Transfer the fillets to a plate and cover them with foil. In the same skillet, add chopped shallots and minced garlic.
- Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stir in cornstarch and seasonings, then simmer until thickened.
- Return the seared Mahi Mahi fillets to the sauce, spoon some over the top, and simmer for another 1-2 minutes.
