Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease an 8x11.5 inch baking dish with butter.
  2. Rinse your mixed berries under cool water, trim strawberries, and toss with berry liquor if using.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and sugar until blended; add in vanilla, heavy cream, and milk until smooth.
  4. Layer half of the brioche cubes in the dish, pour half of the custard over it, and sprinkle half of the berries.
  5. Repeat layering with the remaining brioche, custard, and berries.
  6. Bake for 55-60 minutes until set and golden brown. Watch closely towards the end.
  7. Let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
