  • 3 large Egg Whites room temperature
  • 1 cup Caster Sugar or superfine sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cream of Tartar can substitute with lemon juice
For Flavor and Color
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract or Peppermint Extract
  • 1 tablespoon Green Food Colour Gel
For Decoration
  • 1 cup Red, Green, and White Sprinkles

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 100°C (210°F) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whip the egg whites in a clean, dry bowl with a handheld mixer on medium speed for 3-4 minutes until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add half of the caster sugar along with the cream of tartar and vanilla extract, whisk for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Continue adding the remaining caster sugar in small increments while whipping for 6-8 minutes until stiff peaks form.
  5. Mix in the green food color gel until evenly distributed.
  6. Fill a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle and pipe the meringue into tree shapes on the baking sheets.
  7. Sprinkle the top of each meringue with red, green, and white sprinkles before baking.
  8. Bake for 1 hour, then turn off the oven and leave the meringues inside to cool completely overnight.
