Dough Preparation
- Combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
- Melt butter, mix in milk and let cool, then stir in egg.
- Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients to form dough.
- Knead dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth, place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
Custard Making
- In a saucepan, whisk milk, sugar, egg yolks, cornstarch, and vanilla.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring until thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
Shaping the Buns
- Roll the dough into a rectangle, cut into squares.
- Place custard and raspberry jam in center of each square and fold corners over to shape.
- Place shaped buns seam-side down on a lined baking sheet and allow to rise for 30 minutes.
Baking the Buns
- Preheat oven to 200°C (392°F).
- Bake buns for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
Optional Glazing
- Prepare a glaze by mixing powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
- Brush glaze on tops or dust with powdered sugar after cooling.
