- Rinse 2 cups of fresh cranberries under cool water and discard damaged ones. Place cranberries into a large saucepan.
- Pour 1 cup of pure maple syrup over the cranberries and gently stir to coat.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and cool slightly for 5 minutes. Blend until smooth.
- For thicker butter, return blended mixture to saucepan and simmer for additional 5-10 minutes.
- Transfer to sterilized jars and seal. Cool completely or proceed to can for longer shelf life.
