Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Boil a large pot of salted water, add wide noodles, and cook according to package instructions until al dente (8-10 minutes). Reserve a cup of pasta water, drain noodles, and set aside.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add Italian turkey sausage, breaking it apart until browned (5-7 minutes). Transfer sausage to a plate, keeping drippings in skillet.
  3. Add chopped onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Sauté over medium heat until softened (5-6 minutes). Stir in minced garlic and a pinch of red pepper flakes, cooking for an additional 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in white grape juice, deglazing the skillet and scraping brown bits. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, then lower heat and add chicken broth, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Return cooked sausage to the skillet, simmer for 8-10 minutes to thicken. Add reserved pasta, toss to combine, adjusting consistency with pasta water as needed. Stir in fresh basil.
  6. Serve the Italian Drunken Noodles in bowls, garnished with grated Parmesan and extra basil if desired. Enjoy!
