Preparation Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, softened unsalted butter, vanilla extract, maple extract, and maple syrup. Beat until smooth.
- Gradually add sifted powdered sugar, mixing until a dough-like consistency forms. Fold in chopped walnuts.
- Cover and refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- Scoop and roll the chilled mixture into small balls, roughly 1 inch in diameter, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Refrigerate or freeze the shaped balls for another 30 minutes until firm.
- Melt chocolate chips in the microwave or double boiler until fully melted and smooth.
- Dip each chilled Maple Ball into the melted chocolate and allow excess to drip off.
- Let the chocolate coating cool at room temperature or refrigerate until set, about 30-45 minutes.
