  • cup Soy Sauce Low sodium recommended.

  • 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar White wine vinegar as a substitute.
  • ½ tbsp Ginger (minced) Fresh preferred.
  • 1 tbsp Honey Optional for sweetness.
  • ½ tsp Sesame Oil Pure sesame oil for best results.
For Grilling
  • 8 pieces Skewers (soaked in water) Soak to prevent burning.
Optional Toppings
  • Sesame seeds For added crunch.
  • Chopped green onions For freshness.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the sauce by mixing 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 1 cup of water until smooth. In a saucepan, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, rice vinegar, honey, and sesame oil. Stir in the cornstarch mixture and simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
  2. Cut chicken into 1-inch cubes. Marinate in half of the cooled teriyaki sauce in a ziplock bag for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium heat (350°F to 400°F). Soak wooden skewers for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Assemble the skewers with 4-5 pieces of marinated chicken each.
  5. Grill the skewers for 20-30 minutes, turning every 3-4 minutes and basting with reserved sauce.
  6. Serve with topping of sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
