  • 1 8 oz can Tomato Sauce crushed tomatoes can also work for a chunkier texture.
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup can substitute with BBQ sauce.
  • 1 tbsp Yellow Mustard Dijon mustard can be used for more complexity.
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce soy sauce can be a gluten-free alternative.
  • 2 tsp Chili Powder adjust for heat preference.
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin omit for a milder flavor.
  • Salt adjust to taste.
  • Black Pepper adjust to taste.
  • Pinch of Cayenne optional for extra heat.
  • 1 tsp Brown Sugar optional for added sweetness.

Cooking Steps
  1. In a large skillet, heat over medium heat. Add 1 pound of ground beef and 1 diced onion, cooking until the beef is browned and the onion is soft, about 5–7 minutes.
  2. Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 can of tomato sauce, 2 tablespoons of ketchup, 1 tablespoon of yellow mustard, and 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. Sprinkle in 2 teaspoons of chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon of cumin, and a dash of salt and pepper.
  3. Reduce the heat to low, allowing the Hot Dog Chili to simmer uncovered for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Once the chili has reached your desired thickness, generously spoon the hot mixture over grilled or steamed hot dogs.
