For the Beef
  • 1 pound beef sirloin can replace with chicken or tofu
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon sugar brown sugar preferred
For the Vegetables
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1-2 cups bell peppers chopped
  • 1 cup kimchi chopped
For Assembly
  • 4 slices provolone cheese or other cheese like cheddar or pepper jack

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Thinly slice beef sirloin against the grain, chop onion and bell peppers into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Combine soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and sugar in a bowl, add beef, and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add vegetable oil, and sauté onion and bell peppers for about 5 minutes.
  4. Push veggies to one side of the skillet, add marinated beef, and cook for 5 minutes until browned.
  5. Mix in kimchi with beef and veggies, sauté for an additional 2 minutes.
  6. Assemble cheesesteaks on toasted hoagie rolls with bulgogi mixture and provolone cheese, broil for about 2 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
