  • 1 package Puff Pastry Opt for pre-rolled for convenience
For the Filling
  • 2 cups Apples (Gala or Honeycrisp) Thinly sliced and pat dry if juicy
  • 1 cup White Cheddar Cheese Shredded; can substitute with Gruyère or Gouda
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Thyme Can substitute with rosemary or omit
  • 1 large Egg For egg wash, optional but recommended

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and place a baking sheet inside to warm.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on parchment paper until about 1/8-inch thick, then cut to fit the baking sheet.
  3. Thinly slice the apples, pat them dry if necessary, and arrange them on the pastry with a 1-inch border.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded white cheddar over the apples, then add fresh thyme.
  5. Fold the edges of the puff pastry over the filling and brush with beaten egg.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown and puffy.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.
