Panna Cotta Base
  • 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half for a lighter version
  • 1/2 cup whole milk or low-fat milk for a lighter option
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar or honey/agave syrup as a natural alternative
  • 1 tablespoon powdered gelatin or use agar-agar if vegetarian
  • 1/4 cup cold water for blooming the gelatin
  • 2 teaspoons rose water adjust to taste
  • 1 drop pink food coloring optional for hue
Garnish
  • 1/4 cup pistachios chopped, or use almonds/walnuts as substitutes
  • 1/4 cup edible rose petals or other edible flowers if rose petals aren’t available

Method
 

Directions
  1. Bloom the gelatin by sprinkling powdered gelatin over cold water in a small bowl; let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Heat cream mixture by combining heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar in a saucepan; stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  3. Dissolve gelatin by adding bloomed gelatin to the heated cream mixture; whisk until fully dissolved.
  4. Flavor the mixture by stirring in rose water and pink food coloring; adjust rose water for preferred strength.
  5. Pour and chill by filling serving glasses with the mixture and refrigerating for at least 4 hours.
  6. Garnish with chopped pistachios and edible rose petals just before serving.
