Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Turn the ribs over and peel away the membrane from the bone side. Place the ribs meat-side up on the baking sheet.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, cumin, and optional cayenne. Mix well.
  4. Drizzle olive oil over the ribs, then coat with the spice mixture and wrap tightly in aluminum foil.
  5. Bake the wrapped ribs in the oven for 2 hours, occasionally checking for even baking.
  6. With 5 minutes left, mix barbecue sauce, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne in a bowl.
  7. Remove ribs, unwrap, and generously coat with barbecue sauce. Increase oven temperature to 460°F (240°C).
  8. Return sauced ribs to oven uncovered for an additional 10 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
  9. Switch to broil and cook for 3 more minutes for crispy edges, keeping an eye to prevent burning.
  10. Remove from oven and rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
