Ingredients

For the Truffles
  • 1 cup Sugar Cookies Feel free to use frosted cookies for extra flair.
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Softened; mascarpone can be a lighter alternative.
  • 1 cup Red Chocolate Melting Wafers Can swap with white or dark chocolate if preferred.
Optional Toppings
  • 1/2 cup Crushed Candy Cane/Sprinkles Add visual appeal and crunch.

Equipment

  • Food Processor
  • Microwave
  • Cookie Tray

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by grinding the sugar cookies in a food processor until they are finely crushed, about 10-15 seconds. Add softened cream cheese to the cookie crumbs, blending until smooth.
  2. Roll approximately one tablespoon of the mixture into a ball shape, about one inch in diameter. Repeat until all mixture is shaped into truffles, yielding about 12 bites.
  3. Place the formed truffles onto a lined cookie tray and freeze for about 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Melt the red chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth. Dip each truffle into the chocolate, ensuring full coating.
  5. Lift coated truffles out with a fork, allowing excess chocolate to drip off. Sprinkle crushed candy cane or sprinkles on top before chocolate sets.
  6. Allow truffles to set completely, optionally refrigerating for about 15 minutes.

Notes

Use softened cream cheese for easy blending. Work quickly when dipping them in chocolate to prevent it from hardening before adding toppings. Don't skip chilling for best results.
