Ingredients

For the Crust
  • 1 pack Crescent Roll Dough Forms a flaky base; pizza dough can be used for a thicker crust.
For the Creamy Base
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Rich creaminess; substitute with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • 1 cup Sour Cream Tangy flavor; can be replaced with Greek yogurt or omitted.
For the Taco Filling
  • 1 lb Ground Beef Heart of the taco pizza; for lighter version use ground turkey or plant-based crumbles.
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning Infuses flavors; both store-bought and homemade work well.
For the Toppings
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese Sharp, melty goodness; try Monterey Jack for milder taste.
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese Adds gooeyness; dairy-free cheese available.
  • 1 cup Diced Tomatoes Fresh burst of flavor; pico de gallo or salsa can be substituted.
  • 1 cup Shredded Lettuce Offers crunch; spinach or arugula can be used.
  • Optional Toppings (Jalapeños, Cilantro, Avocado, Black Olives) Customize each slice to taste.

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Cookie sheet

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto the cookie sheet, pressing seams together to form a uniform crust. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown, then let cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Spread over the cooled crust and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  4. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat and stir in taco seasoning. Let cool.
  5. Spread the seasoned beef over the creamy base, followed by cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, diced tomatoes, and shredded lettuce.
  6. Slice into 8 equal pieces and serve immediately while the crust is crispy.
