Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare by slicing sausages and chopping bacon, onions, and potatoes into uniform pieces.
  2. Sauté bacon in a pot over medium heat until crispy, then remove and add sausages until browned.
  3. Add onions and sauté until soft, then stir in potatoes and carrots, cooking for another 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in the broth to cover the mixture and add beer or wine if desired. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Lower the heat and cover, simmering for about 1 hour until ingredients are tender.
  6. Serve hot in bowls with bacon and sausage included, alongside crusty bread.
