Preparation Steps
- Boil 4 cups of filtered water in a large pot over medium-high heat until it reaches a rolling boil.
- Remove the pot from heat and stir in 1 cup of dried hibiscus flowers. Cover and steep for 10 minutes.
- Strain the hibiscus tea through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl or pitcher.
- While tea is warm, add 1/2 cup of sugar and stir until dissolved.
- Squeeze in 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice and stir to combine.
- Pour in 2 cups of cold water and stir thoroughly.
- Peel and chop 1 ripe mango, then blend into a smooth puree and stir into the tea.
- Refrigerate the tea for 1-2 hours until cold.
- Serve the chilled tea over ice cubes in tall glasses.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
