  • 4 cups Filtered Water for brewing
  • 1 cup Dried Hibiscus Flowers provides tartness and color
For the Sweetness
  • 1 large Ripe Mango adds natural sweetness
  • 1/2 cup Sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Lime Juice enhances flavor
For Serving
  • 2 cups Cold Water to dilute tea
  • ice Ice Cubes to serve chilled
  • Fresh Mint Leaves optional for garnish

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Boil 4 cups of filtered water in a large pot over medium-high heat until it reaches a rolling boil.
  2. Remove the pot from heat and stir in 1 cup of dried hibiscus flowers. Cover and steep for 10 minutes.
  3. Strain the hibiscus tea through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl or pitcher.
  4. While tea is warm, add 1/2 cup of sugar and stir until dissolved.
  5. Squeeze in 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice and stir to combine.
  6. Pour in 2 cups of cold water and stir thoroughly.
  7. Peel and chop 1 ripe mango, then blend into a smooth puree and stir into the tea.
  8. Refrigerate the tea for 1-2 hours until cold.
  9. Serve the chilled tea over ice cubes in tall glasses.
  10. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
