- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add onion and mushrooms, sauté for about 5–7 minutes until slightly browned. Stir in garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes.
- Blanch green beans in chicken broth for about 8 minutes until crisp-tender. Drain well.
- Combine the sautéed mushroom mixture, drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Fold until well-mixed.
- Grease a 2-quart baking dish and pour in the green bean mixture, spreading it evenly.
- Top with crispy fried onion strings.
- Bake for about 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
